Ponte d'Adige / Sigmundskron
Not far from Sigmundskron station is Castel Firmian, an ancient castle that is now home to Reinhold Messner's mountain museum. Castel Firmian also bears political significance as it was here in 1957 that the largest protest in the history of South Tyrol was held. This resulted in the proclamation of the Autonomy of South Tyrol by the government in Rome.
