Lana-Postal / Lana-Burgstall
Lana is located further south. It is the province's seventh largest town with more that 10,000 inhabitants. It is served by Burgstall station. Burgstall, a separate municipality, lies opposite Lana across the river Etsch. Both towns are well-known among excursion and culture enthusiasts.
Main Topic of the shelter: The upper Postal-Lana / Burgstall-Lana line was operational from 1913 until 1957. A short section was used as a freight line until April 1974.

Ease of access and modern stations make this railway a special interchange area for local traffic. Renovation work evisages increasing platform height at Untermais, Lana-Burgstall, Gargazon, Vilpian, Siebeneich and Sigmundskon in order to allow passengers to get on/off the new low-floor FLIRT trains with ease. Similar work at other stations will be carried out very soon. |
